
Queen City Paddle welcomes paddlers of all skill levels to our 3rd annual Heat Stroke Paddle Race at Bonita Lakes Park in Meridian, MS.Compete in either a 3 or 6 mile race on a beautiful city lake while helping out a wonderful cause. Most human-powered craft are welcome. We also have a short-distance fun race for kids and kids-at-heart. Awards for top finishers of each class. T-shirts, goodies, and food for all participants.This is a Southern Stoke Paddle Series event!

Events / Course
3 Mile – 1 lap around upper lake6 Mile – 2 laps around upper lakeThe course runs counter-clockwise and follows the general contour of the lake. There are markers to navigate each turn.

Race Day Schedule
• 6:00 - 8:00 am: [At boat ramp] Check-in, packet pick up, last second registration
• 8:00 am: Anthem, mandatory safety meeting
• 9:00 am: Race start (3 and 6 mile run concurrently)
• 10:45 am: Kids' Race (kids-at-heart welcome too)
• 11:00 am: Lunch is served! Followed by awards/results

1. PFD must be on board at all times while on the water. Participants under the age of 17 must wear their PFD in accordance with their PFD’s instructions. Type V (inflatable) PFD is acceptable.
2. Stand-Up Paddlers must wear a leash.
3. No one may participate while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
4. A signed waiver/release of liability is required to participate (available at check-in).
5. Participants must attend the pre-race safety meeting.
6. Headphones/speakers – these are not prohibited but participants must be able to hear others while on the water.
